How it works

Hear it, picture it, reveal it.

  1. Listen

Play one approved recording while the bird remains completely hidden.

  2. Choose

Answer from sound, or request the shape without committing a name.

  3. Add shape

Use the silhouette, and keep trying for one point after a miss.

  4. Reveal

Lift an outer edge, meet the bird, and connect one sound cue with one shape cue.

Questions from the field

Frequently asked questions

Why does Sound Match begin without a picture?

Listening first gives the sound a fair chance to trigger your memory. The silhouette arrives as a second clue, so you can notice whether shape confirms or changes your first idea.

What if I do not recognize the sound?

Leave the name field blank and add the shape clue. An honest “not sure” keeps the round useful and lets the silhouette teach rather than punish.

How does Sound Match scoring work?

A correct sound-first answer earns 10 points. Your first correct silhouette answer earns 5. After one shape miss, you can keep guessing for 1 point until you peel; peeling without a match earns 0.

What happens if a recording cannot load?

Continue with the silhouette and the round will not award the sound-first bonus. You can also try the sound button again before moving on.

Do I have to drag the silhouette to reveal the bird?

No. Drag a visible sticker edge, or use Lift sticker edge for the same progressive reveal. Keyboard and reduced-motion users keep the full learning path.
