Practice state and accounts
Bird Tone does not create accounts, accept uploads, take payments, or save your game history to an application database. Round state and scores live in browser memory and disappear when the page is refreshed or closed. Page interactions may still appear in the usage analytics described below.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits and how people move between pages. It may process page URLs, referral source, general device and browser details, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction events enabled for the web stream. Google may use cookies or similar browser storage for this measurement.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session replays so we can find confusing layouts and broken interactions. It may process clicks, scrolling, navigation, device and browser details, referral information, and a visual reconstruction of a visit. Clarity masks sensitive page content by default and may use cookies or similar storage.
Hosting data
The site is served by Cloudflare Workers. Like other web hosts, Cloudflare may process network information needed to deliver and protect requests, and operational logs may be available to the site operator. Species-guide text and recording metadata are read from the site's content service; field recordings are fetched only when you ask to load one.
Your choices and external links
You can limit or remove browser cookies and storage through your browser settings, although doing so may reduce measurement accuracy. Source links open Cornell Lab, Wikimedia Commons, and license pages; their privacy practices apply after you leave Bird Tone.
Changes
This notice will change before Bird Tone adds forms, stored game history, accounts, or materially different measurement.
