About Bird Tone
Observation is a skill you can practice.
Bird Tone is an observation practice system for curious beginners, not an expert-certification test.
Why this format
Bird identification often begins with a quick impression. Bird Tone slows that impression down into focused practice: notice one field mark, rebuild a bird's color palette from its silhouette, reveal the real bird, and connect the lesson to a fuller field guide.
What Bird Tone includes
Two five-round practice modes, five licensed bird photographs with reusable reveal and silhouette variants, five substantive species guides, and one licensed field recording for each bird. It has no accounts, uploads, leaderboard, social feed, or saved practice history.
Use it as a starting point
One photograph and one field mark cannot identify a bird by themselves. Season, sex, age, behavior, range, habitat, and vocalization can all matter. Continue with a complete field guide.
Begin with the quick practice, try the Color Memory game, or open the five beginner species guides.
